Health and Wellbeing
In this day and age, it’s very easy to foget about our health and wellbeing, to get off track and feel a bit lost in life. It’s very easy to become overwhelmed, stressed, anxious and depresssed. It’s very easy to loose our focus…this all sounds depressing in and of itself!
However it’s not impossible to regain our health and wellbeing, our focus, positivity and happiness because the word…..
‘Impossible’ actually says ‘I’m possible’!!!
With that in mind, there are some really quick ways to work out what areas of your life are going well and which areas you might like to work on. That might seem obvious, however when we are living under a cloud of overwhelm, it can be hard to identify the source of discontent.
Once we have the source, we can work on the solution!!!
Below is a General Life Assessment Tool where you can review each primary element of your life as it is right now, and reflect on what works and what doesn’t.
Health / Wellbeing –
- Eatings habits / diet
- Rest / sleep
- Emotional Health
Family / Friends –
- Social life
- Sense of community
- Personal space
Personal Growth –
- Peace of mind
Fun / Recreation –
Physical Environment –
Career / Work –
- Work hours and conditions
- Career direction
- Purpose / meaning
Financial Security / Money –
Now, once we have become clear on the root source (or sources) of our stress or discontent, we can start to put some plans in place to make the required changes. Some of these can not happen overnight, such a job change or moving towns. In the meantime, we can manage our self care so that we can still be as happy and as healthy as can be despite all of our ducks not quite lining up.
Take this mini Self Care Questionnaire:
- Are you doing what you love regularly?
- Are you truly looking after your health and well-being?
- Do you have a day or more of rest each week?
- Do you have any fun things planned?
- Do you accept invitations from family and friends?
- Do you feel energised and have vitality?
- Do you bounce of bed in the morning, feeling positive?
- Are you eating regularly and healthily?
- Are you getting regular exercise?
If you answered ‘no’ to two (2) or more of the above questions, it’s time to take stock and do something different.
Start by setting a self care goal. By starting with one (1) goal, it is easier to stay focused and stay on track, and not become overwhelmed.
Is your goal a S.M.A.R.T goal? Is your goal:
S – specific
M – measurable
A – attainable
R – realistic
T – timely
